Conditions of Hire

 LOCATION 

Armthorpe Community Centre, which is owned and managed by Armthorpe Parish Council, is situated within the pleasant surroundings of the Welfare Park on Church Street, the main road running through the village of Armthorpe.  It is easily accessible by road (A630) from Junction 4 of the M18 Motorway, turning left at the second roundabout for Armthorpe. There is a regular bus service from Doncaster town centre (Service 81 or 82). 

FACILITIES

The Community Centre is available for hire and has the facilities detailed below.  All rooms are carpeted with the exception of the main hall, which has a wooden floor. 

The management at the Community Centre will always endeavour to accommodate the various uses proposed by hirers.  It does, however, reserve the absolute right to refuse consent to any proposed use, if it considers the same to be inappropriate for whatever reason, including health and safety, etc.

BAR AND LOUNGE

The Community Centre has a fully licensed bar, which is situated at one end of the well furnished lounge.

To one side of the lounge are wooden doors, which when folded back, allow the lounge to be used in conjunction with the Main Hall.  The lounge/bar on its own is an ideal setting for small informal gatherings and parties and can comfortably accommodate up to 55 people.

Bar extensions may be available.  Requests for such extensions must be made at least six weeks in advance of the relevant function/event date.

Tha Main Hall THE MAIN HALL

Equipped with an extensive stage and professional sound and lighting facilities, the Main Hall is an ideal venue for concerts, stage shows and musicals.  It is also an excellent setting for dances and various sporting activities, having been especially designed with a high quality sprung floor.

A large well-equipped kitchen and bar/lounge adjoin the Main Hall, which makes the Community Centre a first-class venue for wedding receptions, parties and other celebratory functions.

MEETING ROOMS

There are three meeting rooms in the Community Centre, the smallest of which is on the ground floor, with attached kitchenette.   It can accommodate up to 33 people.

The other two meeting rooms are situated on the first floor and can each can accommodate up to 50 people.

PLAY PARK

Within the Community Centre curtilage is a children’s play park for children under the age of 12 years. All children must be accompanied by an adult and the equipment comprises swings, slide, climbing frame etc.

CAR PARKING

There is a free car park within the curtilage of the Community Centre with space for 32 cars. There are more free parking spaces available both within the Welfare Park grounds and just off the main road outside the premises.

DISABLED

All rooms and facilities on the ground floor of the Community Centre have full access to the disabled including their own toilet facilities.  A platform lift allows access to the first floor

Enquiries are welcome from persons wishing to use any of these facilities.  These can be made by telephone (01302 830543) to the Community Site Manager, Mr. John Hardy, or his Assistants, Mr. Rob Smith or John Farmer. Alternatively, written enquiries may be made to Armthorpe Community Centre, Welfare Park, Church Street, Armthorpe, Doncaster, DN3 3AG.

Upon making a booking, hirers will be required to complete a Booking Form, which details the conditions  of hire of the Community Centre.  They will also have to pay a deposit equal to fifty per cent of the relevant hire charge
